NFL Free Play: SEATTLE SEAHAWKS at ST. LOUIS RAMS (11/29)

PRO FOOTBALL — November 29

SEATTLE at ST. LOUIS
(Seahawks -4, Total 42.5) — Two “have-nots” in the NFC West get together in this hookup at the Edward Jones Dome. We know that Kyle Boller will be making the start for the Rams, and there is always a certain degree of risk that goes with that. In limited action, Boller has completed 57% of his passes with three INT’s, and he’s been sacked seven times, despite only 86 attempts. Yeah, we are well aware of how bad the Rams are and how bad they can be. But look at how bad the Seahawks are when they venture out on the road – five games, five losses, both straight-up and against the number, and all by double digits (average 17.2-point margin of defeat). Despite the work that Greg Knapp has tried to do with zone blocking schemes, and the contributions from Justin Forsett, it is still a rare occasion when the ‘Hawks are able to run the ball with any effectiveness. Steven Jackson, by contrast, has already rushed for 1031 yards (4.8 ypc), despite the fact that everybody knows he’s going to get the ball. He’s practically the only guy in this game who can be counted on. If you look at the Rams, they have been more competitive lately, beating Detroit, then coming back after the bye and giving the undefeated Saints headaches, followed by a relatively close loss to an Arizona squad that has not lost on the road this year.
