NFL Free Play: DENVER BRONCOS at INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (12/13)

PRO FOOTBALL — December 13

DENVER at INDIANAPOLIS
(Colts -6.5, Total 44) — It’s questionable as to how far Denver has “come back” as the Broncos have won two straight games after four straight losses. That’s just the way it is with Denver. But they are performing some of the fundamentals better. The Colts are an undefeated team through 12 games and have won half their games by four points or less. That tells us there is a very good chance that a capable eleven could keep itself within earshot. Denver has some things that can keep itself in the running here – a quarterback (Kyle Orton) who has thrown more than one interception in a game only once; a running game that is not overwhelming but can move the chains, a tremendous pair of wide receivers who can put pressure on a patchwork Indy secondary, and a defensive backfield that has veteran playmakers like Brian Dawkins, Champ Bailey and Ty Law, who can play the “guessing game” with the wily Peyton Manning. Note that Josh McDaniels, as an offensive coordinator at New England, is no stranger to strategizing against the Colts’ defense.
